What are Mend-A-Paw Dogs?
The special Mend-A-Paw fund provides for medical and surgical needs of the shelter dogs that cannot be provided for with municipal funding.
Henry
Henry came to the shelter with several dental abscesses and loose teeth which impaired his ability to eat- Mend-A-Paw to the rescue. The abscesses were drained and the loose teeth were extracted. Henry is now one happy fellow who lives in the shelter office during the day, eats very well, and supervises the shelter staff.
Bobby
Bobby's right hind leg was crushed when he was hit by an auto. His owners could not care for him and he was surrendered to the shelter. Bobby's leg had to be amputated- Mend-A-Paw to the rescue. Bobby recuperated at the shelter and he was adopted. He is now loving life with his Golden Retriever brother in his new home.
Bonnie
Bonnie was brought to the shelter with a painful inflamed right eye. She was found to have a tumor and surgery was recommended. Mend-A-Paw to the rescue. The eye, which was blind, was removed. Bonnie spent a short post operative recovery at the shelter and this sweet happy spunky little girl was adopted and is very loved in her new home.
Sabrina
Sabrina was found wandering in Flower Hill. Exam by the shelter Vet found a large mass on her right side. Mend-A-Paw to the rescue. The mass was removed and was a benign fatty tumor. Shortly after her surgery she was adopted. This small critter is now making her new family very happy.
