The Shelter Connection is the volunteer organization at
The Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter.
This organization supplies professionally trained volunteers as adoption advisors
and dog handlers, level 1 to 4 (walkers and socializers to training assistants).
We hope to better the quality of the dogs' lives by increasing adoptions through
training and socialization of the dogs and public education.
New volunteers are needed and welcome!New volunteer classes are
scheduled regularly. Please call (516)-626-8948 or
